We are a small but mighty studio. We craft strong, beautiful brands, grounded in sound design principles and strategic insight, ready to connect seamlessly in the digital and physical worlds.

Our team hails from all over the world and mostly works remotely. We have a beautiful studio HQ in leafy Oxfordshire as well as a base in West London.

We’re launching For Different Fonts, a new department dedicated to crafting exceptional typefaces. We’re looking for a Senior Type Designer to join us on a three-month contract to help bring a selection of fonts to life and play a key role in shaping this exciting new venture.

The Role

We’re looking for an accomplished Senior Type Designer with a deep passion for typography, type systems, and lettering. You will have an ambition to push creative boundaries and craft unique typographic expressions. This is a hands-on role, where you will work closely with our design team to develop custom typefaces, refine typographic systems, and contribute to building distinct brand identities.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for creating and refining type solutions across various applications, from brand identities to digital and printed assets, ensuring that typography plays a central role in shaping impactful and memorable design. Your work will be pivotal in defining the aesthetic and technical foundations of For Different Fonts.

The Day-to-Day

  • Crafting custom typefaces and typographic systems that align with brand identities and project needs.

  • Generating original ideas and developing typographic concepts with strong strategic and aesthetic foundations.

  • Collaborating on the development of a font collection that will launch under For Different Fonts.

  • Preparing and presenting work to internal teams and clients, compiling compelling materials for pitches, presentations, and workshops.

  • Refining letterforms, kerning, spacing, and overall type construction with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Collaborating with designers and strategists to ensure typography integrates seamlessly across brand ecosystems.

  • Ensuring high technical standards in font development and implementation, with a deep understanding of type technology.

  • Managing external suppliers or foundries where necessary to deliver high-quality type solutions.

  • Keeping up-to-date with typography trends, technology, and history, attending industry events and fostering relationships with type foundries and institutions.

  • Actively contributing to our creative culture by sharing insights and inspiring the team with fresh ideas.

Who Are We Looking For?

A Senior Type Designer with a strong typographic voice and a passion for pushing the boundaries of letterforms.

You are a bright and enthusiastic communicator, able to present and pitch ideas clearly to key stakeholders. You thrive in collaboration and work closely with the Creative Director and design team to bring bold, crafted type solutions to life.

Your ability to balance creative exploration with technical execution makes you a key part of our studio, shaping how typography defines the brands we create.
