What are your go-to places for staying up to date with the latest design news and trends?

A: My main go to is probably just Instagram, following hundreds of agencies big and small, various artists, type designers, animators, all posting cool stuff daily. Theres also all the usual sites too. Something new I’ve been using recently is cosmos its similar to Pinterest but feels a little more curated.

What’s your favourite brand logo of all time and why?

A: I’m not sure it’s the most sexy logo of all time, but I remember someone pointing it out to me at university and it blew my untrained design mind. FedEx the simplicity with the hidden arrow between the Ex. Perfect – simple yet super iconic.

Most underrated creative tool? (can be digital/physical)

A: Doodling/ lists – making literal notes/ sketching in a pad.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A: As I’ve got older the more I’m craving heat and sunnier days – anywhere hotter/sunnier than Great Yarmouth would be a start. Australia is taking my fancy more and more or maybe the Southern Island in New Zealand.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given during your career?

A: Safe guard your time, creativity takes time, sometimes its not instant - good ideas take time to nurture and develop – protect that time and build strong ideas.

If you could write a letter to yourself at the start of your career - sum up what you would say in one sentence.

A: Stick it out, it gets better.

What movie could you watch every day?

A: Happy Gilmore (any earlier Adam Sandler film).

Coffee or tea?

A: Tea. Preferably iced.
